Location #3

As you enter the town of Santa Margarita, the first property is the Overland Apartments. This was originally owned by Jim Green who owned the Texaco Service Station across the road. In 1947, it was purchased by Lena and Jim McBurney and operated as a ‘motor court’ and restaurant. The single rooms are now rented as efficiency apartments.

Updated 8/2019.... Thank to Cheri Roe, and the members of the Santa Margarita Historical Society, who supplied the vintage photo, I now know that this was once known as McBurney's Motor Court.

Current signage for the Overland apartments.

A cabin stlye structure at the south end of the complex.
View looking northwest from the east side of El Camino Real.
View looking southwest from same location as the above photo.
Foundation of a former stucture. Possibly the office, or an attached restaurant or service station.

A vintage photo from when it was McBurney'w Auto Court. Note the small seperate garages.
