Location #5

Updated 8/2019... This later became a beer pub a few years back, but that business has now moved. Also, thanks to the Santa Margarita Historical Society, who were able to furnish the vintage photos seen here, I now know that it was a garage, with gas pumps in earlier days. It is possible that this might become a new market in the near future.

After Hwy 101 bypassed Santa Margarita, most of the service garages closed. In the 1930s this was Gardner’s Garage.  In 1946 it became Kielman’s Super Service.  In this 1949 photo it was the 101 Garage  owned by Nelson Mattice who sold it to his brother E. S. Mattice in 1950.  It was purchased in 1952 by Howard Williams. He sold to his brother, Harry Williams who operated it as "Williams Service" until 1970.
